K-indie Music Night in New York

On July 27, the Korean Cultural Center New York co-hosted the first Korean indie music concert ¡°K-indie Music Night¡± with Lincoln Center, one of New York¡¯s leading performing arts centers, in the presence of 4,000 New Yorkers. It was held with great success at Damrosch Park, the center's main outdoor performance venue.
Though Korean indie band performances had been held at small indoor clubs in New York, this was the first time that it was held at a large-scale professional performance venue, and the representative indie bands of Korea ¡°Jannabi¡± and ¡°Bye Bye Sea¡± beautifully embroidered New York¡¯s summer night filled with intense Korean rock sounds, Korean traditional vibes and romantic music.
Tasting ¡®Woo Young-woo Gimbap¡¯

On Aug. 18, the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand hosted a cultural experience event to make gimbap rolls that appeared in a K-drama. Some 120 Korean language learners took part, including those from the King Sejong Institute at the Cultural Center and university students from Bangkok.
Students experienced ¡°Woo Young-woo gimbap¡± and ¡°Dong Geurami gimbap¡± from the K-drama, ¡°Extraordinary Attorney Woo,¡± which has recently become a hit in Thailand. Through the guidance of a lecturer, students were able to make gimbap with prepared ingredients, and they had a blast tasting their creations.
German Actor-martial Artist Pursues Action-film Dream in Korea

Andreas Fronk, a Korea-based German martial artist, actor and stuntman, recently appeared in two recent Korean action movies: ¡°Hunt¡± and ¡°Carter.¡±
While training in taekwondo under a Korean master, I grew increasingly curious about Korea and its culture. So after graduating university, I decided to leave Germany and live here,¡± he explained how he came to Korea. A resident of Seoul since 2008, he began getting acting gigs on TV shows from 2016. He has appeared in many action thrillers like ¡°V.I.P.¡± (2017) and ¡°Seo Bok¡± (2021).
