Spain¡¯s First K-fashion Exhibition

The Korean Cultural Center Spain held its first K-fashion exhibition in Spain, a powerhouse of global fashion. The exhibition was held at Han-wool, an exhibition hall at the cultural center. The exhibition, which ran from June 13 to Jul. 29, introduced the 2022 S/S collection by designer Kim Ah-young, who received the Prime Minister¡¯s Award at the K-Fashion Auditions of the 2021 Korea Fashion Awards.

Keeping to the theme of ¡°Tradition Wears Newness,¡± the exhibit displayed 19 outfits and three types of shoes inspired by Korean traditional clothing. There was also a photo zone where visitors could try on some of the outfits.

Korean War Veterans Memorial

Bangkok, Thailand

A memorial service for Korean War veterans was held by the 21st Infantry Regiment in Chon Buri, Thailand, hosted by the Korean Embassy on June 24. Thailand was the first country in Asia to participate in the Korean War, dispatching 6,326 soldiers, sailors and airmen.

The memorial ceremony began with a flower arrangement and a visit to the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Peace medals were given to the veterans and their descendants.

Some 300 people attended the event, including 14 surviving veterans, diplomatic corps from 22 participating countries, and personnel from the Thai government and military.
